I have had dogs most of my life and spent summers and any vacations on my grandparents farm with cattle, chickens, ducks and horses while I was growing up.
I’ve actively been training, trialing and setting out stock in herding for well over 2 decades. Mainly Bouviers, Border Collies and Aussies, but also Rotties and ACDs in pre-trial through advanced levels in both AKC and AHBA. I’ve run in ASCA and some field trials as well.
I have been an AKC herding judge since somewhere around 2006. AHBA since around 2004. I’ve instinct tested almost every herding breed, 500+ dogs, including at the Bouvier Specialities. Participated in many herding clinics and have helped give them as a Clinician’s Assistant. I feel I have a full understanding of “upright” and “eyed” dogs, their working styles and the ability to read dogs and their livestock. I have judged numerous AKC & AHBA Trials, including the 2007 NAWBA Herding Championship & 2012 ABdFC Herding at the National Specialty. I’ve judged Corgi, ACD, Collies, Belgian Sheepdogs and other Specialities and Regionals.
I truly enjoy watching/judging dogs work and their relationships with stock and their handlers.
Respectfully submitted,
Karen Trimble
